Nicolai Czumaj-Bront was born in Chicago, IL in 1978, studied Psychology and Philosophy at Kent State University, Ohio (1996-1999) and graduated in Industrial Design at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1999-2002 BA in Industrial Design.)

In 2002, he began working for the design and engineering consultant group, DiMonte Group in Aurora, IL. During that time he was lead product developer at Beoform. In 2005 he joined Haworth, Inc. In 2014 he moved to Berlin, Germany where he lived and worked until 2018 as the European Design Lead as part of the Haworth Global Design Studio.

Nicolai now lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he works and collaborates globally as a Haworth Design Leader while managing the Haworth International Design Studios.
